Noise Assembly is the studio practice of Tyler James Goin, gratefully operating on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations - also known as Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Growing up in a small Rocky Mountain town, Tyler apprenticed with a sculptor from ages 15-25 doing large scale public works in metal. He studied industrial mechanics and machining more formally to better approach the idea of spatial problem solving. Without conventional art education, he uses intuitive gestures to balance expression through both natural and engineered materials. With a focus on this duality, he primarily works with metal and/or ceramic to create a visual conversation based in conceptual harmony. This research attempts to convey a deeply personal relationship with the nature of things and our ideas about them.

Today, Noise Assembly offers one-off pieces through diverse iterative series. Services include technical design consultation, unique metal fabrication, finishing, and machining.

Why “Noise Assembly”?

Noise has the amazing ability to either obscure, or magnify as a function. This appears embedded in the practice of contemplation - pursuing what it means to find balance in expression, and heavily considers the economies of the human spirit as a guiding force for discovery. Assembly, because it’s being put together - one piece at a time.
